Color Ball Medium earring 1 pcs
PetrolThere are several ways to find your ring size. Try one of the ones below.
For stacking rings, we recommend a slightly looser size.
A) Measure one of your own rings
Take a ring that fits you well and measure the inner distance (diameter).
B) Measure the circumference of your finger
1) Use a strip of paper and wrap it around your finger. Make sure it fits over the knuckle.
2) Use a pen to mark where the paper overlaps and unfold it flat again.
3) Measure the length of the paper from the start to the mark using a ruler with mm measurements.
Use the chart below to translate your measurement to the correct size.

LULU Copenhagen's size guide is a general guide and measurements may vary from person to person and the chosen ring.
Not all rings have the same shape, so even if you find your ring size, the design and material thickness may affect your ring size, so you will need to go either up or down in size. Therefore, use this guide as a guideline.

Jewellery maintenance guide
Materials & Care, General
At LULU, our jewellery is designed, developed, and handcrafted in a variety of beautiful, skin-friendly materials. The base of our designs is either 925 sterling silver or high-quality brass and surgical steel. Depending on the base metal, we use platings of fine silver, sterling silver, 18K gold, or IP. Each piece is always finished with an e-coating to provide extra protection for the plated surfaces.
All of our enamel jewellery is hand-painted, giving each piece a unique, artisanal expression. Small irregularities may occur – this is the charm of handmade work.
You’ll also find freshwater pearls, hand-painted beads, natural stones, imitation stones and pearls, as well as crystals in our selection. On each product page, you can read which materials have been used for the piece you’re interested in. LULU Copenhagen works closely with the Danish Assay Office, Force Technology, which conducts regular inspections. These can be looked up under the name LULU, ensuring quality and skin-friendly materials. All LULU Copenhagen jewellery is nickel-free and/or hypoallergenic and complies with international quality standards.
When used correctly, your jewellery can last for years – some even for life. However, please note that jewellery, like knitwear, shoes, or bags, will naturally show wear over time and requires careful handling. The lifetime of your jewellery, especially its surface, depends on how it is used and stored. Wear on surfaces and solderings is normal and not a reason for a claim. If you suspect a manufacturing defect, please contact our customer service, provide your order number, and attach a photo. Manufacturing defects typically appear shortly after purchase, unlike normal wear.
It’s unfortunately not possible to predict how long a plating will last, as it depends on many factors – such as your skin’s pH level, exposure to chemicals, perfume, hairspray, soap, grease, high temperatures, sunlight, sweat, and general use. Illness or medication can also strongly affect the surface of metals.
Many of our pieces can be repaired or replated by your local jeweller. We also carry extra durable jewellery in our collection – we encourage you to explore our stainless steel pieces with gold plating.
Hard Surfaces
We recommend removing your rings when working with hard objects or lifting heavy items to avoid scratches and bending of the metal.
Washing & Lotions
Take off your jewellery when showering, swimming, washing your hands, or applying lotion and other products to prolong the beauty of the surface.
Cleaning
Keeping your jewellery clean is important to prevent the surface from fading or becoming damaged. Use a soft cloth with a drop of water to gently wipe away dirt and grease regularly. If your ear piercings are irritated and secreting, make sure to wipe the post of your earring – otherwise, it will oxidise quickly. Oxidation is completely natural and not harmful – metal is “alive” and will always react with its surroundings.
Silver Polish
We recommend silver polish for sterling silver products. For gold-plated items, use extreme caution – test first with just a small drop, rinse off immediately, and avoid prolonged exposure.
Chemicals
Always remove jewellery before cleaning. Chlorine and other chemicals are highly damaging to jewellery. We strongly recommend putting on your jewellery last – after lotion, perfume, and make-up. This simple routine significantly extends the life of the surface.
Sport & Sleep
Remove your jewellery when exercising, as sweat shortens the life of the surface. We also recommend taking jewellery off before sleeping, as the body releases toxins overnight and jewellery can bend or break while you sleep.
Sunlight, Humidity & Oxidation
Avoid storing your jewellery in direct sunlight or humid areas such as the bathroom. If your silver ring or gold earring has darkened due to oxidation, try rubbing it with your finger – your skin’s pH often works like a natural cleaner. Otherwise, carefully use a soft cloth with a bit of cleaner.
Storage & More on Oxidation
When not in use, store your jewellery in a sealed bag inside the jewellery box – away from sunlight, oxygen, and moisture.
Oxidation is a completely natural process – both during wear and storage. Sunlight, oxygen, moisture, sweat, chemicals, and your skin’s pH all contribute. The surface stays at its best if cleaned regularly.
Note that earring posts may discolour from dirt, secretion, or blood – this is completely normal and not a reason for complaint. Earrings are safe to wear regardless. We recommend not sleeping with earrings on and wiping posts regularly.
Piercings & Irritation
It’s natural for ear piercings to react occasionally. A new piercing typically takes at least a year to fully heal, sometimes longer. Irritation can occur due to illness, frequent changes, heavy earrings, or thicker posts. During illness, we suggest changing pillowcases often. A good tip is to pull the backing slightly away from the ear to allow airflow. A small hoop earring can help during sensitive periods. Wash the earlobe with mild soap and warm water twice daily if irritation occurs, and dry with clean paper or a towel.
Some people are unfortunately allergic to certain metals. While we use only the most skin-friendly metals, some may still react to copper, silver, or gold.
You’re always welcome to contact us at support@lulucopenhagen.com if you have questions or need advice. At LULU, we love earrings – our ears deserve proper care so we can adorn them for life.
Small Irregularities in Jewellery
We use high-quality metals, often soft, and all our pieces are handmade. Therefore, small irregularities may occur. For example, an earring post may be slightly bent after soldering – this can easily be adjusted with your fingers. Minor imperfections should not affect function or appearance when worn.
Do not wear your jewellery if you notice a defect in the clasp, chain, size, or similar, as we do not replace lost jewellery. Always inspect your jewellery before wearing it.
Production
Our jewellery is produced in collaboration with a Danish production consultant at a workshop outside Hong Kong, China.
Our displays are produced locally in Denmark.
Chains & Untangling Knots
Necklaces and bracelet chains are very delicate and cannot withstand pulling. If a chain snags and breaks, it cannot be replaced. Always wear chains with care. Put jewellery on last – after clothing, perfume, and make-up – and take it off first when undressing.
If your chain gets knotted, here’s a great trick: lay it flat and use two needles to gently loosen the knot. Search YouTube for “How to untangle a necklace” for helpful tutorials.
Spring Clasps
Spring clasps on necklaces and bracelets should be “trained” regularly: press the pin down and release about 10 times to keep it working smoothly. This is especially important for plated clasps, as the e-coating can make them a little stiff.
Butterfly Backs for Earrings
Adjust tension occasionally by squeezing or spreading the two loops with your fingers. This restores the grip on the earring post.
Click Hoops
Click hoop posts may sometimes need adjusting to restore the “click.” Gently bend the post upward, a half millimetre at a time, until the click is secure again.
